West Nile Virus
California's West Nile virus activity is steadily increasing. Detection in human and mosquito samples has surpassed 2009 records. There is still a lot of summer left, temperatures continue to climb and humidity has increased. These are prime conditions for mosquito breeding.

National Egg Recall
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health has advised county residents to see if the eggs they have at home are part of a national recall. A portion of eggs produced from May 16 to August 17 by Wright County Egg in Iowa have been recalled because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, a dangerous bacterium that may cause serious health problems. The eggs were in stores within a few days of production and have been distributed in 16 states including California.

El Departamento del Condado de San Bernardino de Sanitaria ha aviso a residentes para ver si los huevos que tienen en casa forman parte de una retirada nacional. Algunos de los huevos producidos del 16 de mayo a 17 de agosto por Wright County Egg en el estado de Iowa ha sido recordado porque ellos quizas sean contaminados con Salmonella, una bacterias peligrosas que pueden causar problemas graves de salud. Los huevos estuvieron en tiendas dentro de unos dias de la produccion y han sido distribuidos en 16 estados inclusive California.
